There have been major changes to the C2C!

In the Fall of 2019 Artistic Director, Ricky Pak accepted a full-time Assistant Professor of Acting position at Syracuse University. He and Associate Artistic Director, Whitney Tenney Pak traded in the sun and surf of Southern California for the ice and snow of Central New York!
Now that he has had a year to successfully settle into his new position, we are happy to launch the next chapter of the C2C storybook.
The Circle Squared Collective will now operate as a bi-coastal entity as the C2C LA and C2C SYR. While Ricky will maintain his position as Artistic Director for both theatres or Circles, Associate Artistic Director Whitney Tenney Pak will play a more prominent role in the creative productions of the C2C SYR.

Meanwhile, we would like to congratulate our long-time company member, Yvette Herrera on becoming the Associate Artistic Director of the C2C LA Circle. She will continue to develop exciting new theatrical work in Southern California.

The first project of the new C2C LA and C2C SYR Circles will be a joint venture entitled "This Land", an exploration of voting in the upcoming 2020 U.S. Presidential elections.
While examining the question of whom people are voting for and why, the C2C will simultaneously be investigating how to create theatre online using Moment Work in a post-COVID19 world!

Since our founding in 2013, a core tenant of our mission statement has been, "... to bring diverse voices to a new generation of audiences." We have always created work with and for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) theatre artists and audiences.
And yet we also acknowledge that there is still a lot of work to be done, especially now as we rebuild our own Circles in Los Angeles and Syracuse. Our mission will continue to be giving voice to those who have for too long been voiceless for those who have for too long been waiting to see their stories represented on stage and screen. Diversity and inclusion remain at the center of our beliefs.
We have not and will never hesitate to say
BLACK LIVES MATTER
as we continue to strive to be the best allies and advocates for all BIPOC theatre artists and audiences possible.
Economic times are tough, but if you are able, please consider making a donation to one of the many worthy organizations listed on this page:
